Renew Your Mind, One Thought at a Time

Scripture

Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. - 2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP)

When I really began to study the Word and to trust God to restore me, I realized that my negativism had to go. You see, I’d had so many disappointments in life that my whole philosophy was: If you don’t expect anything good to happen, then you won’t be disappointed when it doesn’t. God wanted me to see that in Christ, I was a new creation—even in my thinking.

I want to encourage you to make God’s Word a priority in your life. Take regular time each day to read the Word and even look up scriptures that specifically apply to your situations. Then choose to think on them and get them deep down on the inside of you. As you do your part to renew your mind, God will do His.

Tip

“The hardest part of being set free from negativism is facing the truth and saying, ‘I can be negative at times, and I want to change’...the pathway to freedom begins when we face the problem without making excuses.”
— Joyce Meyer
