Can You Hear Me Now?

Scripture

I love those who love me, and those who seek me early and diligently shall find me. - Proverbs 8:15 (AMPC)

We have a tremendous privilege—we have a Father Who wants to communicate with us all of the time about everything that concerns us. This doesn’t mean that He expects us to spend every minute of the day on our knees in prayer, but He does want to have an ongoing conversation with us as we go about our day.

If we really want to hear from God, we have to make lifestyle changes that create an atmosphere for Him to speak. Atmosphere can be defined as “the climate, environment or the predominant mood around you.” Have you ever noticed that you feel moods around you, like tension or strife?

Atmospheres are created by our attitudes. And there are some important attitudes we need to choose in our relationship with God that will make us sensitive to His voice.

I can tell you one thing for certain: If you’re serious about seeking God and hearing from Him—if you really want to receive His divine guidance in every area of your life—the Lord will be faithful to meet you where you are...and help you to know and recognize His voice.

Tip

“Just like you need the proper directions or GPS to get where you’re going, you also need supernatural guidance to enjoy the great life the Lord has in store for you. The good news is that God wants to speak to you, lead you and direct you along the way. All you have to do is ask! ”

Study Suggestion

Psalm 91:14, John 14:21 and James 1:5 all teach that when we seek God, He will make Himself known and make Himself real to us. This week, I encourage you to search for more scriptures on seeking God and hearing His voice, write down the verses that stand out to you, and ask Him to make His voice easily recognizable to you.
