Do It Afraid

Scripture

I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] - Philippians 4:13 (AMP)

God has a big, full life planned for each one of us, and He wants to lead and guide us by His Holy Spirit into His perfect will. However, if we want this life—if we truly want to enjoy everything Jesus died to give us—it’s going to require us to step out of our comfort zones and walk by faith. God wants us to live courageously, knowing we can do whatever we need to do through Christ who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13).

True courage is moving forward in the face of fear. You still feel fear, but you are determined, with God’s help, to move forward anyway. “Doing it afraid” means you can be bold and take risks instead of just doing what seems “safe.” It means not allowing fear to keep you from obeying God and becoming everything He has created you to be. Remember, with God by your side, you’ve got what it takes to “do it afraid.”

How Do You Cultivate Courage?

Joyce teaches about how to develop courage and confront fear in your life.

Tip

“When the Lord tells us to “fear not,” He’s not saying we will never feel fear. He is telling us to not allow fear to prevent us from moving forward. We have a choice—we can do it afraid!
— Joyce Meyer
