Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 3:13–14 (AMP)
Forgetting What Is Behind
Scripture
Do you know what God does with the sins and mistakes of your past? He forgets them! Hebrews 8:12 says that God remembers your sins no more. His forgiveness is a free gift that is available all the time.
I encourage you to stop remembering what God has forgotten and let it go.
Mistakes are a part of life, and how you respond to them matters. Refuse to dwell on past failures. Jesus has forgiven your sins and gives you new mercies every morning. Receive them and walk with God today!
Put the Past in the Trash
Joyce shares encouragement about getting rid of regret.
Tip
“Pray about the things you’re sorry for and ask God to redeem your mistakes by working something good out of them, but refuse to live with regret.”
— Joyce Meyer
Study Suggestion
Write down the mistakes you are struggling to let go of. Then crumple up the paper and throw it in the trash as a symbol of moving forward in God’s plan for you.
