The Faith Habit

Scripture

Now faith is the assurance (title deed, confirmation) of things hoped for (divinely guaranteed), and the evidence of things not seen [the conviction of their reality—faith comprehends as fact what cannot be experienced by the physical senses]. - Hebrews 11:1 (AMP)

Faith is a powerful force that resides on the inside of our spirit, and when it’s released, tremendous things can happen in our lives. We release our faith when we pray and say what God says in His Word. It is so important for us to get into agreement with God and confess His Word out loud, not just talk about how we feel and what we think. If you will exercise your faith to become more like Christ Himself, the way you think will change. The things you say will change. You will begin to live with greater love and compassion. And it will become very natural for you to encourage others in their faith.

I encourage you to start building the faith habit today by putting your faith into action in a practical way. Make a habit of getting up in the morning and thanking God for what He’s done in your life. Praise Him for what He’s going to do. Release your faith for what you know you need in Him that day. And ask Him to prepare you for whatever challenges may come your way. Amazing things can happen when you choose to believe. Decide today that, with God, the impossible is possible.

Tip

“The faith habit will leave no room for the worry habit. It also drives out the fear habit. Developing a habit of simply trusting God in every situation will help you overcome many other bad habits.”
—Joyce Meyer, Making Good Habits, Breaking Bad Habits

Study Suggestion

A great way to release your faith each day is by making confessions based on Scripture, like “God loves me. This is going to be a great day! I am the righteousness of God in Christ. My sins are forgiven. Something good is going to happen to me today!” Find scriptures that you can confess out loud that will help build your faith.
