…Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. — 1 Samuel 16:7 (NIV)

How do I know I’m doing it right?
Seeking God's Guidance
Scripture
Again, just asking the question is a good sign. In fact, it shows how much you’ve grown over the past 8 weeks. It’s no secret that as flawed humans (all of us), we have the ability to put a smile on the outside when everything is chaotic on the inside. You want to be real, you want to be all God wants you to be, and you’re committed to making sure they all line up with His Word.
Test me, Lord, and try me, examine my heart and mind. — Psalm 26:2 (NIV)
There will be things you try to get right and things you try to get wrong. But regardless, it does not change God’s unfailing love for you. You’ll get better and better as you keep studying His Word and keep putting one foot in front of the other—never give up! As long as you allow God full access to your life, turn everything over to Him and study His Word, you actually can’t do it wrong!
Now that you’ve asked God to help you examine your heart, what are the things you feel He’s calling you to try? What do you feel is at your core that He wants to bring to the hurting world around you? Take some time to write them out and next week, we’ll focus on the aspect of God that will help bring them to life with the topic: The Help of the Holy Spirit.
