The Really, Really Kind of Love

Guess what? God loves YOU! It sounds simple, sure, but God loves you. Like really, really, really loves you! He knows you make mistakes sometimes and still loves you. And are you ready for this? He not only knows who you are right now, but He knows who you will be tomorrow and when you are really old!

God loves you so much that His Son, Jesus, came to earth as a baby, grew up a lot like you did—learned how to walk, talk, eat, play…all the fun stuff—and then eventually when He was much older, He went to the cross. And on that cross, when He died, He was thinking about you!

And not the you when you are having a good day, listening to your parents and are kind to your siblings, but the you when you make mistakes, in the moments you are unkind and having the worst day ever!

Think about that! It’s one thing to do something for someone who is being nice, but to do something incredible for a person who makes mistakes and is unkind is way different! And why did God do that? Why did Jesus go to the cross for you? It’s simple: He loves you and thinks you are worth it. So, when you start to feel down in the dumps, or sad and lonely, just remember and say out loud: “I’m not perfect, but God still loves me!”

Kid Prayer: God, help me to understand more and more about how much You love me.

Parent Prayer: God, I will remind myself daily that You love me, and You think I’m enough. The world is so tricky in making me feel less than, but I know You have great things in store for me.
