Therefore the LORD waits [expectantly] and longs to be gracious to you, And therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For the LORD is a God of justice; Blessed (happy, fortunate) are all those who long for Him [since He will never fail them]. – Isaiah 30:18 (AMP)

Finding Excitement in Your Day
Scripture
Let’s jump right in. Say this out loud: “Something good is going to happen to me today.” Yep. Put a big, cheesy smile on your face and say it again…and as loud as you can: Something good is going to happen to me today!
But…you have a doctor’s appointment this afternoon, or a big test today or a tryout for the soccer team you really want to play on. Maybe you haven’t even gotten out of bed yet and you’re already worried, so you wonder why you should even start things off with a saying like that?!
Well, let’s think about that for a minute. When you said those words really loudly, how did it make you feel? Did you laugh a little? Did you feel something positive on the inside? If you didn’t, try saying it again, but perhaps with a little more feeling and maybe even with a fun accent.
Sometimes, if you want to change how you feel on the inside, you have to say some good stuff out loud—on the outside. The reason? When you focus on God’s words and make them your own, they will likely set you up for something positive. Chew on that idea for a while.
Kid Prayer: God, help me be as excited about today as You are and let me look for Your goodness at every turn.
Parent Prayer: God, help me to slow down long enough so that I can allow Your patience and strength to restore me.
