If we value peace and desire to walk in it, we need to be willing to adapt ourselves to other people and situations. There are, of course, times when we should stand firm on our convictions and refuse to compromise, but there are also times when keeping the peace is more important. Peace and power go together, and anyone desiring to have power in their life must also have peace.
Peace is what makes life enjoyable. Indeed, truly enjoying life is impossible without it. We often give up our peace for things that are not worthy of the sacrifice—things like winning a useless argument or remaining angry when we feel we have been mistreated. Jesus said that we are to be makers and maintainers of peace (Matthew 5:9 AMPC). This means that we must take the initiative in making peace rather than waiting for someone else to do it.
Prayer of the Day: Father, I choose to dwell in peace. Grant me the grace to adapt and adjust myself to people and situations when I need to. Thank You for Your great mercy. In Jesus’ name, amen.
