Fully Convinced of God’s Promises @tag1>
Adapted from Quiet Times with God
The Bible states that Abraham was “fully convinced” concerning the promise of God; he did not waver or doubtingly question. In other words, he had set his mind and was able to keep it set during temptation.
You will be tempted; that’s just a fact of life. But with God’s help, you can resist temptation. The Bible says we are to be on our guard, and that means we should watch out for the things the devil uses to derail our faith in God.
People who have set their minds will stick with their decisions, realizing that they have to make it through the difficult times in order to get the result they desire. Setting your mind on things above (see Colossians 3:2) means being firm in your decision to agree with God’s ways of living no matter who or what may try to convince you that you are wrong.
Prayer of the Day: Lord, help me to be fully convinced of Your promises. Strengthen my mind to resist temptation and remain steadfast in my faith, no matter what challenges I face, amen.
