An Epic Lesson in Love

Even if you are a gifted intellectual, the fact that God loves you is one of the most important truths you need to know. It’s something every person desperately needs to know.

Understanding the depth of God’s love for us is the essential first step toward fulfilling our destiny. The second is to become a vessel of His love.

But here’s what I want to make very clear: You can’t skip the first step and go straight to the second, because no one can give away love they don’t have (1 John 4:19).

So, be honest with yourself: Do you ever struggle to believe God loves you? Do you sometimes worry He’ll let you down? If so, I encourage you to ask God for revelation knowledge about His love for you.

Make time regularly to study the Bible in the area of God’s love. By doing so, you will begin to know God as the Loving Father He is.

You Are God’s Beloved Child

Many people have a broken record playing in their head like I once did. It just keeps on repeating, What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with me? But that’s the devil talking. What God says is, you are His chosen child—and you are righteous in His eyes.

Ephesians 1:4-5 (NLT) says, Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.

If you just scrolled past the scripture, I want you to scroll back and really examine what it says.

Ask yourself: What do these verses reveal about God’s love for me? Does God really find fault with me? Why does God love me?

Whenever you find yourself in doubt, go straight to His Word. Scriptures like this are the weapons we need to withstand the enemy’s attacks.

In Christ, Your Future Is Bright

Another area of thought the enemy likes to attack is our future. But in Christ, our hope is secure.

Jeremiah 29:11 (AMP) says, "For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you," says the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."

God has all sorts of wonderful promises in store for those who love Him (1 Corinthians 2:9), and we can be assured that He will keep His Word (Romans 5:5).

One last thing I’d like to add is that God doesn’t just reward us with “stuff.” He loves to bless us and He promises to meet our physical needs. But more than anything, He wants us to realize that our security is found in Him alone.
