Introducing the Hope Factory

The Hope Factory (what a perfect name!) is our incredible, new food manufacturing plant in Zimbabwe. It is in full swing and producing millions of meals for children. Meals that satisfy a large percentage of their dietary needs. Meals that can help them reach for their dreams.

Are you ready for this? We now feed over 55,000 children in Zimbabwe schools each school day! Because of you, they wake up with hope. They are healthy and strong, and it allows them to pay attention in school and have the freedom to just be kids.

How does it all work?

The Hope Factory allows us to produce (rather than purchase the food from others) and store high-quality meals that are filled with 75% of a child’s daily nutritional needs.

This new facility will be self-sustaining, allowing us to pay for the current expenses but also potentially expand to feed more kids, dig more water wells, and build more Classrooms of Hope (mobile classrooms that provide underprivileged children with an education, nutritious meals, and the Gospel message).

It’s been over 20 years since we began feeding children and sharing the Gospel in Zimbabwe schools. Now, the Hope Factory will allow us to continue these efforts and reach out in even greater ways. It’s a project that’s been in the works for a while now, and to see it come to fruition is super exciting.

In 2024, I had the privilege to dedicate the new Hope Factory in Bulawayo. Even better, I was able to hear from several students who have benefited from our in-school feeding programs over the years. One is now a nurse, another a teacher, and yet another a social worker. 

Partners, these are just some of the lives you are saving through your love, prayers, and support…and each one will go on to impact so many other lives.

Right now, as I write this, the Hope Factory is producing more than 12 million meals a year—and we’re just getting started! Together, we can turn hunger into hope and impact thousands of children for years to come.
