Hand of Hope
2 min read

The day Dinknesh walked into our Hand of Hope mobile medical/dental outreach, she and her baby sister, Frenesh, were both near death. Twelve-year-old Dinknesh was severely malnourished and her little body was covered with scabies. She and her infant sister were starving, and they were living in a cardboard box. Their parents had passed away not long before, so Dinknesh was now the sole provider for both of them.

Because of their serious condition, the medical team took them to Hand of Hope’s Pediatric Specialty Clinic, operated in partnership with Crisis Aid International. Our entire team absolutely fell in love with Dinknesh’s smile and couldn’t wait to see her and little Frenesh healthy again. Once she and her sister were fully recovered, they had more good news for them. They would have a home. The sisters moved into a home filled with strong, godly women who are now like mothers to them.

Because our partners made these medical outreaches possible through their giving, Dinknesh and her baby sister get to grow up like all children should—healthy, strong, able to laugh and play, and just be kids. They’re in a life-giving environment, where they are surrounded by the love of Christ and empowered to change their world…and it all began with a medical outreach.

We could never thank you enough!
