Are You Thinking Big Enough?
God Wants Us to Stretch Our Faith
Have you ever asked God for something that seemed impossible? Perhaps He has given you a vision or a dream that seems way too big, but you know in your heart that it’s what you are called to do.
A few years ago, I prayed a really bold prayer. I said, “God, I want to help every single person on this earth.” I believe it came from the Lord, because when I thought about what I just prayed, it sounded impossible!
The truth is, on our own, something like this would be impossible. But God has big plans, and He desires to use us to do great things on this earth. He is the One Who puts compassion in our hearts and gives us the desire to help others.
I really love Ephesians 3:20. It says that God is …able to do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams]…(AMP).
God wants us to stretch our faith and believe He can show up in ways that we never even imagined. It may be hard to believe, but His dreams for our lives are even bigger than our own! And so often, God uses other people to help us reach those dreams.
For example, at Joyce Meyer Ministries, we have a passion to share the Word and reach those who are hurting. However, without others who have come alongside us to help, we could only do a tiny fraction of what we are doing! My husband, Dave, and I talk a lot about partnership—partnering with other people to reach our world for Jesus—because God has used it to literally do the impossible through this ministry.
We all need each other, and none of us is an island unto ourselves. I really love Deuteronomy 32:30, which says that one person can put a thousand to flight, but two people can put ten thousand to flight. When we join forces, we multiply our efforts exponentially, and there’s no limit on what we can accomplish together!
God has a big plan, and He wants to do “infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams” (Ephesians 3:20 AMP). He not only wants to do great things in your life, but He wants to also do the impossible in the lives of people all around the world.
And He wants to use you and me to do it.
