It may seem hard to believe, but over 5 million people in Guinea do not have access to clean water—that’s half of their population.

Women and girls are especially affected by this problem because they are primarily the ones to collect water for their families. The time and energy to sometimes walk for miles to retrieve water is a tremendous burden, and it often keeps girls from attending school.

But you are changing this pattern for hundreds of families.

You Created a Ripple Effect

These 10 new wells and water systems—the very first ones we have ever installed in the nation of Guinea—are literally transforming their lives and bringing relief that they have long prayed for.

Instead of walking for miles to retrieve dirty water that makes them sick, they now have 24-7 access to fresh, clean water to drink and cook with. This not only means healthier families, but it’s allowing so many children to attend school without interruption and simply be kids.

In addition, these new water systems improve sanitation, hygiene, and so many other things that we can often take for granted.
