You shall teach them diligently to your children . . . and shall speak of them when you sit in your house. . . .
While any history book is simply an account of what has happened in the past, the Bible is a history book of God’s story, and He warned that no one should add to it or take away from it. History is really His-story.
If we don’t pass the true story of God down to the next generation, it will be tragic. Only truth can keep people free, so tell your children and grandchildren everything you can about God. Tell them Bible stories and help them remember the great things that God has done.
Make sure that when you celebrate holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving that you use them as an opportunity to teach the next generation and remind yourself what they are truly about. History is informational, but His-story is transformational. Never forget what is really important.
Prayer of the Day: Father, help me tell the next generation Your true story. Give me opportunities to teach my children and grandchildren about You, especially during the holidays, amen.
