One by One

It’s pretty common for people to ask me what my mom and dad (Dave and Joyce Meyer) are like “behind the scenes.” Well, I’m with them nearly every day, and I can tell you that what you see is what you get—they really do practice what they preach.

In fact, they have celebrated 50 years of marriage, which is an incredible milestone! Over the years, things haven’t always been easy, but they never gave up. Today, they are still best friends and love each other more than ever.

Mom and Dad have been such a great example for me, both in their marriage and ministry. Over the years, I’ve had a front row seat for the good and the bad. I’ve watched them push through difficulties, make tough choices, and choose to trust God through it all.

Their lives remind me of a famous line from a movie that says, “The choices you make today will echo throughout eternity.” All of their hard work, sacrifice, and obedience has not only affected my life, but it has paved the way for Joyce Meyer Ministries to be used by God and help so many people around the world.

It also makes me think of you, our ministry partners. You need to know that your prayers and financial support are literally saving people’s lives every single day, making an impact for generations to come. You are Joyce Meyer Ministries, and you make everything we do possible.

The message of Christ is at the very heart of everything we do.

Through our Enjoying Everyday Life TV program, we are reaching a potential audience of 4.5 billion people throughout two-thirds of the world in more than 100 languages. 
Early on, we also got involved in social media—platforms like Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram—because it’s a major way people are communicating these days. If that’s where the people are, then that’s where we need to be to share Christ.

We regularly receive messages from people saying they had given up and planned to commit suicide…but then read our daily devotional on Facebook or watched our TV program online and gave their life to Christ. This is what it’s all about.

It’s why my mom and dad travel around the country holding conferences. It’s why we translate our books into more than 160 languages and go to great lengths to distribute them to nearly every corner of the globe. Because this message is saving people’s lives—both now and for eternity.

And it’s not just about hearing the message of salvation. It’s also about applying God’s Word to our lives. A couple of years ago, God put it on my mom’s heart to launch the 3030 Challenge—a challenge to study the Bible 30 minutes a day for 30 days. The response has really been incredible. Hundreds of thousands of people have signed up on our website to participate and grow closer to God.

We send emails with words of encouragement, study tips, and links to articles and videos to watch. The success of 3030 has also led to Everyday Study, our online program offering continued support to help make Bible study a daily habit.

Really, it’s pretty simple—the more time we spend reading and studying God’s Word, the better our lives will be. I’ve found that when I dedicate more time to being in the Word, that’s when everything clicks—at home, at work, and in all of my relationships. I’m a better leader at work, and I can lead my family better. One of the best results is that it makes you happier, which also makes the people around you happier!

A huge part of sharing Christ is loving people.

We can preach a message, but if someone is hungry or living on the streets, they probably won’t receive what we’re saying until their needs are met. However, when we genuinely help people and show Christ’s love, they naturally want to know why we’re doing it.

My brother, David, does an incredible job as CEO of Hand of Hope, the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. He oversees our nine international offices and constantly travels to check on our worldwide outreaches, making sure our partners’ donations are being used in the best way possible. We look for ways to have the greatest impact for the Kingdom and intentionally go to some of the most remote places on earth, reaching the unreached or “forgotten” in society.

You are providing food for tens of thousands of children who would otherwise starve. You are rescuing girls who are trapped in forced prostitution. You are helping people who have lost hope and don’t know if they can go on another day.

I can tell you one thing for sure: Your prayers and financial support are making everything we do possible. And your decision to reach those in need will impact generations to come…and echo throughout eternity.
