On the Road with the Hope Mountain Ranch Dental Bus @tag2>
$7,286. That's what Randy Summers' dental bill would have been.
Without insurance, Randy hadn't seen a dentist in years. So, when he heard about the Hope Mountain Ranch Dental Bus rolling into Gracelife Chapel in De Soto, Missouri, it seemed too good to be true.
"I've been praying for a way to see a dentist," Randy said. "I didn't know where to go or what to do without insurance or having the cash to pay out of pocket. This pain of having my teeth hurt is so bad."
That day, the dental professionals extracted nine of his teeth—something he could never afford on his own. Walking out of the bus, cheeks filled with gauze, a smile burst through.
"It is a blessing and a huge opportunity for me to get out of pain," Randy told us. "I just can't thank you enough. It makes a world of difference!"
Miracle on Wheels
Earlier this year, the Hope Mountain Ranch Dental Bus visited De Soto, Missouri, and Mount Pleasant, Utah—two of the many stops it will make throughout the United States in 2026.
This brand-new, customized van is a miracle on wheels. Filled with state-of-the-art equipment, our volunteer professionals provide free, basic dental care—like fillings and tooth extractions—for those who can't afford it.
The bus is housed at Hope Mountain Ranch—an 800-acre refuge in Mount Pleasant, Utah, for all those seeking hope and healing…and the hub for Joyce Meyer Ministries' humanitarian outreaches across the United States.
Just in Time
"I need a couple fillings," Ariel Wells told us. "This one's pretty close to cracking."
For Ariel, our dental bus couldn't have come at a better time. Since her husband suffered a heart attack, she works 14-hour days in De Soto to support her family and pay the medical bills—all without insurance.
"Right now, everything I do goes to taking care of him. Everything I need usually gets pushed to the back," she explained. "So, when I was scrolling Facebook and saw it pop up, I thought, This is fantastic! I need to go! For people like me who don't have the money, it means a lot."
"The dental van is meeting people where they're at," Melanie McClure, Hand of Hope's domestic outreach manager says. "Many don't have access or the finances to get dental care. If you have a toothache, your whole life stops—a small thing can control so much. So, if we can help them in this practical way, it opens up their hearts to be able to receive the love of Christ. And that's the whole goal—to share Christ and love people."
“I just want the best for my children.”
Kika Lolesio Tafia certainly felt the love. Her son, 5-year-old Nemaia, and her daughter, 4-year-old Ianeta, had never seen a dentist before. They were beginning to have problems, but money was tight.
When Kika learned that our dental bus would be coming to their grade school in Mount Pleasant, Utah, she jumped at the chance.
"I just want the best health for my children. I don't want them to feel embarrassed in front of other kids," Kika shared with us. "I have to give them the best that I can so other kids never underestimate or make fun of them just because of their teeth."
Thanks to you, Nemaia and Ianeta had a great day—seeing a dentist for their first time ever. For Mom, it was a load off her mind.
"It would take me a while to do this for them," Kika told us. "Without this opportunity, they're not having this moment."
Partners of Joyce Meyer Ministries, you made so many moments like this one possible in Missouri and Utah, where our dentists treated over 250 patients. Our teams were also able to pray with nearly every single one, and many of them began a relationship with Jesus for the first time.
So, on we go! To West Virginia, North Carolina, Washington state, and everywhere in between. To meet needs, share the love of Christ…and leave so many new smiles behind.
A Note from Nicol Meyer
I love our dental outreaches! I've had the privilege of serving multiple times on our beautiful dental bus. It is literally a dentist office on wheels. We have teams of wonderful dentists and hygienists, along with many others just wanting to serve, volunteering their time and services to people who can't afford dental care.
While being on the bus, I've heard so many people say how they've been living with the pain of a tooth needing to be extracted for so long and what a relief it is for them to have it finally taken care of. Being able to meet a physical need like that is amazing, but the part I love the most is that it opens the door for God to work in that person's life.
For each dental outreach, we partner with a local, life-giving church. So, after people receive dental care, we offer to pray with them, and we provide them with a free copy of one of Joyce's books. We also encourage them to get plugged into the church if they don't already have one.
At our recent outreach in Mount Pleasant, Utah, we met a young woman who came in looking like she was carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. She had her teeth cleaned and saw the dentist, and afterward, we were able to hear some of her story.
She had been struggling emotionally and dealing with rejection from her family. She was very receptive to hearing about Jesus and how much He loves her. We were able to pray with her, and by the time she left that day, she looked like a different person. She came in looking beaten down and discouraged but left with a big smile on her face and hope in her eyes.
She brought her son back the following day and we were able to give her a Bible and encourage her to keep pursuing Jesus. This woman came in to get her teeth cleaned but left with hope and a seed of faith planted in her heart.
I personally want to say thank you to all of our friends and partners. Because of your faithful giving, these outreaches are possible. You are meeting people's physical needs, but more importantly offering them hope. You are truly being the hands and feet of Jesus.
