On August 10, 2007, Joyce was scheduled to speak at the Chenla Theater in the heart of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. It was the culmination of a 30-day outreach in a nation still fearful and devastated after a genocide in the 1970s. However, moments before it started, the government cut the power and locked all the doors—no one could get in or out.

Determined to make a way, Joyce climbed over the courtyard wall where a massive crowd had gathered outside. Using nothing but a bullhorn, she then preached one of her greatest messages.

“Tonight, we are going to make history!” Joyce encouraged them. “God is a God of restoration, and He has a great purpose for you and for this nation.”

Over the past 40-plus years, Joyce has traveled the world, sharing God’s Word in more than 40 nations. Often using an interpreter, Joyce has proved that the message of hope and healing through Jesus Christ translates into any language.

Joyce’s Festival of Life in Hyderabad, India in 2004 is the perfect example. On the first day of the conference, Joyce stood on an outdoor stage and taught a message on emotional healing to 400,000 people.

It was a message Joyce had lived herself, and now she was sharing it halfway around the world. People in attendance had walked for miles to hear God’s Word, and they weren’t disappointed. Four years later, when Joyce returned, more than one million people attended the conference—a ministry milestone.

Whether it’s India, Cambodia, England, Papua New Guinea, Zimbabwe, or the former Soviet Union, you have made it possible for us to carry God’s Word around the world and share the most important message they will ever hear: That God loves them and has a good plan for their future.
