The Key to Total Freedom

Embracing God's Plan for a Joy-Filled Life

We all face a lot of challenges in life, and it’s very easy to get caught up in the stresses and pressures of daily living. But I’ve got good news for you today! God has a different (and much better) plan for you.

God wants you to be totally free so you can live the joy-filled, overflowing life Jesus came to give you. You no longer have to live captive to the fear of what might go wrong. And you never again have to feel imprisoned by the regrets of your past.

So, if there have been worries in your life that have been weighing you down or situations that have you feeling afraid and unsure, know this: God wants to free you from anything and everything that is holding you back from His best purpose for your life.

This is such an important topic for me because for many years of my life, I was tormented. I was a prisoner to my circumstances and my own feelings. If someone said something that hurt my feelings, my day was ruined. If Dave or one of the kids didn’t do something I had asked them to do, I would be filled with self-pity, wondering, What did I do to deserve this treatment?

I can look back now and see that I was a frustrated, stressed-out, self-centered, unhappy believer. But the more I studied the Word, the more I began to see that God wanted to free me from unhappiness, anger and frustration. God showed me that Christ has set us free...(Galatians 5:1 ESV). And ever since I’ve tasted freedom in Christ, I’ve never looked back.

But in order to live in God’s freedom, there are some decisions you are going to have to make. You get to decide what kind of life you are going to live—God is not going to force His blessings, goodness or freedom on you. You have to choose it and receive it.

You can choose to live afraid that a relationship, job offer or health situation won’t work out or you can live in freedom, standing in faith that God is in control. You can choose to live an angry, bitter life due to the pain others have inflicted on you or you can live in freedom, forgiving them and letting God make it right.

Remember, Jesus came to set you free—free to rise above the negative things of this world and free to enjoy the good things of God. You get to decide what kind of life you want to live, so choose freedom today!
