We all have problems with people, but our real enemy is Satan. He is always trying to throw us into pits because he knows that’s where he’s headed. He’s throwing a fit on the way to the pit!

So, anytime the enemy shovels a load of discouragement on you, I want you to do what that old donkey did and shake it off. Stand up on the inside and come up just a little bit higher.

Don’t be the kind of person who starts off on the path to victory and then when things get tough, you quit and have to start all over again.

Why won’t God lift me out?

Our times in “the pit” are testing times. God uses them to test our character and develop us into spiritually mature men and women who will represent Him well in the earth.

The good news is, you cannot fail with God! He will always give you another chance to pass your test. But you will have to pass it to get your place of victory…because God is not going to change His mind.

God will help us do whatever He asks us to do, but we have to do our part; we have to take responsibility for our choices and have a good attitude while we’re doing what we are supposed to.

Here is the good news…

Romans 8:28 says, And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.

That’s right! God can take every negative thing that has happened in your life and turn it around for your good if you love Him and follow His Word.

It may not be easy—in fact, a lot of the time it’s just hard. But every time we do what’s right especially when it's hard, we make progress in our relationship with God and get closer to victory. And we can do it.

Remember that the promises of God are for “whosoever will.”  That means you!
