I will be careful to lead a blameless life—when will you come to me? I will conduct the affairs of my house with a blameless heart.

Today’s scripture mentions a blameless life and a blameless heart. Does the idea of living a blameless life and having a blameless heart seem impossible to you? I think all of us would have to admit that we do not consider our lives and hearts blameless or completely without fault. Second Chronicles 16:9 says that The eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to show Himself strong in behalf of those whose hearts are blameless toward Him (AMPC).

When I first read this verse years ago, I thought, I had better straighten up, because I am certainly not blameless. But then I learned that to be blameless in God’s sight does not mean to perform perfectly and never make the tiniest mistake. It simply means to have a sincere, heartfelt desire to obey God’s Word and to live in a way that pleases Him.

If you truly want to live according to God’s Word and your heart is to please Him, then you have a blameless heart and are just the type of person in whom God wants to show Himself strong. And You can count on God to show Himself strong on your behalf.

Prayer of the Day: Thank You, Lord, that I can walk blameless before You because I sincerely want to please You in every way.
