Grace for Daily Living

Adapted from Quiet Times with God

Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in [union with] Him [reflecting His character in the things you do and say—living lives that lead others away from sin].

We may know and understand that by God’s grace, our sins have been forgiven, but we don’t always understand that we need the same grace for daily living that we needed for our salvation.

Many times, living a Christian life feels like we are failing. We get frustrated because we want to be what God’s Word instructs us to be, but we feel like we don’t have the power to behave accordingly.

But God’s Word teaches us to live for Jesus in the same way that we received Him—by grace. We are saved by grace, and we are to live by grace. When we do, we’ll have the peace and joy of the Holy Spirit, and we’ll live the powerful lives God has called us to live.

Prayer of the Day: Lord, thank You for Your grace. Thank You for the ability to do things, because of You, that I could never do on my own. Help me to walk in love and show grace to others as I move forward in You, amen.
