Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2023
Joyce Meyer Ministries, Inc. ("JMM", "we", or "us") is a Christian, nonprofit organization committed to excellence, integrity, and your privacy. This Policy is provided to inform you of the ways JMM collects, uses, discloses and otherwise processes or handles your personal information. By providing your information, you agree to your personal information being processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy, as amended from time to time (as noted in the date above).
INFORMATION COLLECTION AND USE
JMM collects some information that cannot be traced back to a specific individual (when that person is not signed in with an account). For example, our web servers automatically record the IP address (the general location where the user is logged) of each visitor to our website, joycemeyer.org, and tracks how many people visit the Website. This information is used to administer and specialize the Website more effectively and gain general information about the backgrounds and sources of visitors.
This policy also applies to information we collect when you contact us by telephone, mail, email, mobile application, text, social media, or advertising on third party websites that redirect you to joycemeyer.org.
JMM may also ask you to provide personal information that identifies you. We require this information when you create an account, submit an inquiry to us, become a partner, make a purchase or donation, or engage with us for promotional purposes. Such information could include your name, postal address, phone number, email address, date of birth, marital status, other demographic information, or credit card information. JMM limits the personal information it collects to that which is reasonable under the circumstances, and we only collect your personal information with your consent.
We use your personal information for processing your donations and purchases as well as informing you about upcoming ministry events such as conferences, outreach updates, or opportunities for you to serve, etc. We may otherwise use your personal information where permissible by law, for example to respond to an emergency, or in the course of an investigation into illegal behavior.
SMS SUBSCRIPTIONS
At times we may reach out to you through our mobile messaging program which you agree to use and participate in subject to the Mobile Messaging Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy (the Terms and Privacy Policy are referred to collectively as the “Agreement”). Users may “opt in” or “out” of receiving messages at any time. We will only use information you provide through the Program to transmit your mobile messages and respond to you, if necessary. This includes, but is not limited to, sharing information with platform providers, phone companies, and other vendors who assist us in the delivery of mobile messages. WE DO NOT SELL, RENT, LOAN, TRADE, LEASE, OR OTHERWISE TRANSFER FOR PROFIT ANY PHONE NUMBERS OR CUSTOMER INFORMATION COLLECTED THROUGH THE PROGRAM TO ANY THIRD PARTY. However, we reserve the right to disclose any information as necessary to satisfy any legal requirement, to avoid liability, or to protect Our rights or property. When you complete forms online or otherwise provide us with information in connection with the Program, you agree to provide accurate, complete, and true information. You agree not to use a false or misleading name or a name that you are not authorized to use. If, in our sole discretion, we believe that any such information is untrue, inaccurate, or incomplete, or you have opted into the Program for an ulterior purpose, we may refuse you access to the Program and pursue any appropriate legal remedies.
The California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) and California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits Users of the Program that are California consumers or residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of the information you provide through the Program to third parties for their direct marketing purposes.
