Wisdom For Living A Low Stress Life

A chair is designed to bear a certain amount of weight. If used properly, it should last a very long time. But if it consistently bears more weight than it was designed to hold, it will break down.

In the same way, you were built to stand up to a certain amount of physical, mental and emotional strain. But too much is too much.

So how many things are you doing that you complain about? How many things overload your schedule and create unnecessary strain in your life?

For many of us, the main problem is not with time but with motives. We’re stretching ourselves too thin, trying to make more money…impress other people; to seek their approval or to prove something to ourselves…or even to be in the know at your workplace or in your church.

The Results of Wrong Motives

What we do for the wrong reasons—our self-created stress—won’t bring any honor to God. It will just make us tired, unhappy and unfulfilled. It is a total waste of time and effort!

First Corinthians 3:13 says, …the fire will test what sort of work each one has done (ESV).

Small, seemingly innocent circumstances have a way of piling up on us until we finally explode from the pressure. That’s why it’s so important that we learn to follow the leadership and direction of the Holy Spirit! And do you know what? The quicker you do, the more powerful, successful, and influential you will become!

How to Be Healthy, Happy, and Wise

God is not impressed with what we do. It’s why we do it that matters.

If you’re tired of wasting your time and effort on the wrong things, then make a change. Ask the Holy Spirit to purify your heart and help you let go of things God wants you to let go of…and to pursue the things that God would like you to pursue.

Now, if you’ve already committed to something, then it’s best to be responsible and do what you said you would do. But learn from the experience not to take on more than what you were made to do.

When you put God's wisdom into practice in your life, you will find your peace and joy, and you’ll be able to enjoy your life!
