You've Got a Friend in the Fight

Unveiling the Spiritual Victory in Life's Battles

Youve Got A Friend In The Fight

If you’ve ever experienced a difficulty or “battle” in your life, I want to personally encourage you. This is a truth straight from the Word of God that I believe will build your faith and can impact every area of your life:

God has given you everything you need to be victorious in every battle (difficulty) you will ever face.

For many years, even though I was a Christian, I lived a defeated life because I didn’t understand this truth. I didn’t know that God had equipped and empowered me to win life’s battles.

So, throughout those years, whenever I had problems—with relationships, finances, or whatever the situation was—I thought it was right to just put up with them or pretend everything was okay so others wouldn’t know I was struggling.

However, my willingness to tolerate defeat was actually preventing me from receiving God’s strength, blessings and favor.

God didn’t create us to live a defeated existence. He created us to overcome—even during the most difficult times in our lives. It is in these seasons of difficulty that God wants us to realize that He is for us!

“More Than a Conqueror”

In Romans 8:37 (AMPC), God gives us an amazing promise of victory over the battles we are going through. It says, Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.

The exciting thing about being “more than a conqueror” is that before you ever have a problem, you know that you have what you need to overcome it. Jesus is on your side and He will give you the strength and the power you need to be victorious.

You see, when you know that God has already given you the victory, you can approach the battle with a new level of confidence.

It’s also important to understand that our battles are spiritual. Many people are living in defeat because they are unaware that they have a spiritual enemy who has destructive plans for their lives.

First Peter 5:8 (AMPC) tells us to be vigilant at all times because ...that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.

God is not trying to make you fearful through scriptures like this. He’s telling you to be aware and be prepared.

When you understand that the battle is spiritual, then you know that the weapons you need to wield are spiritual weapons. And when you learn how to use them, you’ll never have to live with a victim mentality again. Instead, you’ll know what it means to be more than a conqueror through Christ!

Now, the enemy is not going to leave you alone...and he won’t fight fair. He’ll do whatever it takes to keep you from God’s plan for your life. This means he will attack you in any area of your life where he sees a weakness or thinks he can get to you. But God is greater than the enemy.

The greatest way to win your battles is to cultivate a close, intimate relationship with God. We are nothing in our own strength—on our own, we are no match for the enemy. However, the Bible says “Greater is He (God) Who lives in us than he (Satan) who lives in the world” (1 John 4:4 AMPC).

So, what battles are you fighting today? A troubled relationship, sickness, financial problems, fear, or maybe a disappointing setback? You were never meant to do it alone. God wants to strengthen you, guide you, help you...and teach you how to have success over the enemy.

None of us have a choice whether or not we will face battles—we all experience difficult times! But we can choose to be victorious over them. We can receive God’s strength to fight and win every battle we face ...and come out stronger on the other side.
