Hurricane Helene has left a profound mark on communities across the Southeast, bringing with it severe winds and devastating storm surges. Classified as a Category 4 hurricane at its peak, Helene caused extensive flooding, destruction and casualties, leaving many families to pick up the pieces in its aftermath.
In response to this disaster, Hand of Hope is actively working in North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Virginia & Tennessee, partnering with organizations like Mercy Chefs to provide meals for families and first responders affected by the storm. We are also collaborating with God's Pit Crew, Revo Church, Church of the Highlands, Eight Days of Hope, Gathering Place, and Steven’s Creek Church to aid in cleanup efforts and distribute essential supplies, including generators, cleaning products, gas, chainsaws, and more, to the people who are in desperate need of help.
People like Phil and Joyce, a remarkable couple in their 80s and 90s who have faced unimaginable loss. The storm surge from Hurricane Helene flooded their home destroying nearly everything they’ve worked for. With no insurance and medical issues making it hard for them to get around, their future is uncertain.
Yet, Phil and Joyce remain steadfast in hope. Phil shared how hard it has been to no longer be the one working and helping others—something he’s done his whole life. But despite their challenges, they trust that God will take care of them, and their faith has never wavered.
As we move forward in our relief efforts, we invite you to join us in supporting those impacted by Hurricane Helene. Together, we can help rebuild lives and restore hope in our communities. Your generosity and compassion can make a world of a difference.
