Joyce Meyer Ministries’ Hand of Hope to Provide Matching Funds for Quadratic Amputee’s Home Construction @tag1>
August 13, 2024 (St. Louis, Mo.): Joyce Meyer Ministries’ missions outreach arm, Hand of Hope, is pleased to announce it will be part of a grassroots initiative working together on the construction of a disability-accessible home for a recent quadratic amputee, Cindy Mullins (41), and her family in Lincoln County, Kentucky. Hand of Hope will contribute $200,000, and a GoFundMe campaign was created to help raise the remainder toward the cost of a $250,000 construction project heralded as “Mullins’ Miracle”.
In January of 2024 Cindy Mullins, 41, of Lincoln County, KY lost both arms and both legs due to sepsis resulting from a kidney stone that became infected. Upon learning of Mullins’ fate, James Crocker of Hog Technologies (Stuart, Florida) decided to organize a fast-track construction project to develop a new home for the Mullins family featuring all of the accessibility amenities that Mullins would need.
James presented his vision to David Meyer, CEO of Hand of Hope, the outreach arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries who offered to help jumpstart the fundraising campaign with a matching commitment. “Mullins’ story is both heartbreaking and inspiring,” Meyer said. “As our mission is to share the Gospel and help people in their greatest times of need, it was an easy decision to support an incredible construction project involving so many volunteers for such a worthy recipient.”
Construction will be completed September 18, 2024. The project will involve a small army of contractors, suppliers, and volunteer construction and design professionals who will work together to construct a new barndaminium-style home designed by Kentucky-based Architect Garlan VanHook in only ten days.
