What we focus on can either make us happy or miserable. We can either dwell on the negative things in life, or choose to be thankful and magnify the good—releasing a whole new level of faith, hope, and joy…no matter the situation.
Want to infuse your day with more gratitude? Try to:
- Remember Your Blessings – Make a list of some of the little (and big!) things God has done for you. (Ps. 77:11, 105:5; Deut. 8:2)
- CELEBRATE Your Victories – Even if they’re only small wins, progress is progress! Focus on how far you’ve come, not on how far you have to go. (Eph. 4:15-16; 1 Tim. 4:15; 2 Pet. 3:18)
- Be Thankful and SAY SO – Tell someone today that you’re grateful for them. Extra credit: Also tell them why! (Eph. 4:29; Col. 4:2; Heb. 3:12-13)
- Share the Joy – Do something nice for someone else! Blessing others helps move your mind off yourself. It will also make you deliriously happy. (Rom. 15:2; Gal. 6:9-10)
- Commit to Gratitude – Start your day off deciding to be grateful for what you already have. (Important life hack: It’s not happy people who are thankful—it’s thankful people who are happy!) (1 Thess. 5:16-18)
- Include God in Every Moment – Talk to God every chance you get! When you make Him a constant part of your life and keep your focus on Him, your problems will seem so much smaller. (Ps. 96:1-2, 100:4; Col. 3:17)
