Be Decisive

Adapted from Beginning Your Day God’s Way

[For being as he is] a man of two minds (hesitating, dubious, irresolute), [he is] unstable and unreliable and uncertain about everything [he thinks, feels, decides].

Indecision is a miserable state to be in and certainly is not a fruit of a life lived confidently in Christ. The apostle James said the double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Being indecisive because you’re afraid you’ll make the wrong decisions will get you nowhere. How much time do you think we waste when we can’t make up our minds?

With God’s help, you can start making decisions without second-guessing yourself or worrying about the choices you make. In your quiet time with God, ask Him for wisdom and confidence so you can move forward boldly. Don’t be double-minded or wishy-washy; doubting your decisions after you make them will steal the enjoyment from everything you do.

If you do make the wrong decision, it’s not the end of the world. Pray for God’s redirection, and He will help you get back on the right path. But trust that God will give you the wisdom and the power to make right decisions the first time. He will honor your desire to walk in His ways by speaking the right choice to your heart.

Prayer of the Day: God, please help me to be confident in You, to make decisions boldly, and to not second-guess myself or live in the constant fear of making a mistake. Thank You for Your wisdom, amen.
