What Must I Do to Please God? @tag1>
Adapted from Power Thoughts Devo
But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him.
In John 6:28-29 (AMPC), some people asked Jesus what He required of them: What are we to do, that we may [habitually] be working the works of God? [What are we to do to carry out what God requires?] Jesus replied, This is the work (service) that God asks of you: that you believe in the One Whom He has sent.
Hebrews 11:6 tells us that it is impossible to please God without faith in His Son. God's love for us is unconditional, and it's important for us to understand that He wants us to do good works because of our love for Him and our faith in Jesus—not because we feel we have to earn His love. It blesses God when we live by faith, working through His love in our hearts (see Galatians 5:6).
Prayer of the Day: Father, thank You that Your love is unconditional. Help me live by faith in Jesus, not to earn Your love, but because I love You and trust You completely.
