When Will God Deal with the Wicked? @tag1>
Adapted from Daily Devotions from Psalms
Wicked, evil people are arrogant. They think only of the moment they are in and fail to realize that one day God will call them to account for their deeds. God is extraordinarily patient, and I am sure that while the wicked seem to be getting away with their evil deeds without punishment, God is trying to deal with them and bring them to face truth and repent of their actions.
We should pray for those who do evil instead of judging or criticizing them, because if they don’t repent, their end will not be good. The psalmist David writes that the thoughts of the wicked have “no room for God” (Psalm 10:4). And Psalm 14:1 says that only a fool believes there is no God. He boasts of his ways and takes advantage of the weak, but God will arise. He will not forget the oppressed, the fatherless, or the helpless. God hears the prayers of the afflicted and oppressed, and He will come to their rescue.
Let me encourage you today to remember that God is just, and He always makes wrong things right in the end. Don’t become weary in doing good, because in due time you will reap the reward of your faithfulness (Galatians 6:9). Our God is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. All power belongs to Him, and He will not leave you helpless.
Prayer of the Day: Father, help me not to resent the wicked, but to pray for them and be patient while I wait on You to deliver me.
