Everyone passes through different levels of God’s glory and obviously we aren’t all at the same level at the same time. Therefore, you hinder the maturing process when you compare yourself with someone else and then feel as if you don’t measure up. And this is just what the devil wants.
I call this the performance-acceptance syndrome, and if you want to be free, you must overcome it. You can do this by seeing yourself through God’s eyes. He sees you as valuable, unique, and precious, and He loves you just as you are—imperfections and all.
If you are worn out from trying to be perfect, start enjoying being yourself and trust God to change you. He knows what He’s doing, and He will get the job done if you will just keep on believing.
Prayer of the Day: Father God, help me see myself through Your eyes, embracing my uniqueness and trusting You to guide my growth, amen.
