When Paul said he had learned to be content, he was saying he still trusted God even if he did not particularly like the situation in which he found himself. Therefore, his trust kept him in perfect peace. When our minds are fixed on the Lord, we are content and peaceful.
Trusting God and refusing to complain in hard times greatly honors Him. There is no value in saying how much we trust God when all is well if, when the test comes, we can’t say and sincerely mean, “I trust You, Lord.” Through gratitude and thanksgiving, you can close the destructive doors of discontentment. Don’t wait until everything is perfect before you decide to enjoy your everyday life.
Prayer of the Day: Lord, help me to be content in all circumstances and in every situation, because my trust is in You, God, amen.
