Victories Build Faith

An open Bible on a table for reading a daily devotional with morning sunlight.

Adapted from Quiet Times with God

It was for this freedom that Christ set us free [completely liberating us]; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery [which you once removed].

Knowing something mentally and knowing it by experience are two entirely different things. We often say that heart knowledge is much deeper than head knowledge. Faith builds in our heart as we exercise it, not just when we think about it.

Each obstacle that you confront with God’s help becomes a small victory for you, and it prepares you to face the next one.

Whenever you complete a challenge or overcome an enemy, you will enjoy your new freedom so much that you will soon be totally unwilling to live any other way. You will soon be determined that your days of hesitation and quitting are over. That doesn’t mean you won’t face difficulties, but it does mean that you will be more and more determined to trust God and win the battle.

Prayer of the Day: Lord, I want to go deeper in You and gain more knowledge in You and of Your Word. Please strengthen my faith and guide me to victory. Let every challenge draw me closer to Your unwavering love and unmerited favor and grace, amen.
