Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, and we receive it through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not based on anything we have done, although we will be rewarded in heaven for our works. In Hebrews we read, Without faith it is impossible to please Him, and that when we come to Him, we must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6 NKJV).
I don’t want to miss anything that God has for me, because I know it will be something wonderful. I am sure you feel the same way. Scripture teaches us that we reap what we sow (see Galatians 6:7). This is a very sobering thought to me, but it is also an exciting one. When we do what is right because of our love for the Lord, He will reward us. If we do what is wrong, we will miss our reward.
At times, you may grow weary in life, but thinking of all the rewards God has stored for you in heaven and being excited to see what they are will keep you strong and refreshed.
Prayer of the Day: Father, help me sow good seed so I can reap a good harvest. I want to use wisdom in all that I do so that I will not miss the reward that You have for me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
