Be an example and set a pattern for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in [moral] purity.

I am convinced that people believe more of what they see us do than what they hear us say. That’s why it is important that we understand our responsibility to set a good, biblical example. How we live our faith is essential to being an effective witness for those around us.

Don’t just tell others what they should be doing, but let them see you set the example. If a parent tells a child to be kind, and then the child sees their mom and dad being rude to one another, they have wasted their words.

The Bible says we should watch and pray (see Mark 14:38). In our quiet times with God, I think we need to watch ourselves a little more and pray we will live out the faith we so boldly profess. When we set the right example, it is a beautiful way to share our faith.

Prayer of the Day: Lord, please help me to live out my faith authentically. I want to be a good witness—a good example of Your love through my actions and not only my words, amen.
