Christmas Comes Early for Hundreds of Families near Ferguson, Mo.

by St. Louis Dream Center - posted December 16, 2014

(St. Louis, MO) Representatives of the St. Louis Dream Center, an outreach arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries, will be onsite this Thursday Dec. 18, from 10:30—12:20 a.m. at Koch Elementary School, located at 1910 Exuma Drive near Ferguson in St. Louis.

Three hundred forty five low-income students will receive much-needed support during the school’s lunch periods, including Christmas gifts for each child, holiday food boxes, and grocery items for the school’s food pantry. School supplies, children’s clothing and uniforms, and special assistance for one family who recently lost their home in a fire will also be provided in the days to follow.

“Teachers at Koch Elementary recognized a critical need and took the initiative to start a food pantry at their own expense to help families,” says Alex Bryant, director of the St. Louis Dream Center. “So much has happened in Ferguson that has impacted families in a negative way, yet it’s great to see an elementary school in the heart of these issues being a light and a support to those in need. We are honored to have this opportunity to help their efforts.”
