  • Saturday, May 26th from 10:00am-2:00pm at L.B. Landry High School
  • Event will be free and will include food, games and other activities for the entire family

ST. LOUIS -

Several prominent NFL players will join thousands of Louisianan residents this Saturday, May 26th, for an event that aims to reach the inner city of New Orleans' Whitney neighborhood, an area devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Taking place at L.B. Landry High School, this event is sponsored by Hand of Hope, the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries, with a variety of other organizations, and will feature a cookout, entertainment, games, family portraits, grocery giveaways, and a meet and greet session with NFL players.

Chicago Bears offensive lineman and native New Orleans resident Lance Louis says "It is such an honor to be able to come home and give back to the neighborhood. I'm looking forward to touching as many lives as possible with my NFL friends." Louis was born in New Orleans and attended L.B. Landry High School. Due to the encouragement he received growing up, he spearheaded this event to give back to his community.

Johnny Knox, wide receiver for the Chicago Bears, also plans to attend. "I'm excited about going to Lance's hometown" states Knox, "and meeting the people who helped shape his life. I hope to be a blessing."

Along with Louis and Knox, Tyler Clutts, full back for the Chicago Bears, will also be in attendance.

Saturday's activities take place from 10:00am-2:00pm at L.B. Landry High School, located at 1200 L.B. Landry Ave, New Orleans, LA 70114. This event is sponsored by Joyce Meyer Ministries Hand of Hope, Straight From the Heart, Convoy of Hope, New Orleans Dream Center, Healing Place Church, and Johnny's Opportunity Knox.
