Free Thanksgiving Meals Provided to Local Families from the St. Louis Dream Center

by Joyce Meyer Ministries - posted November 13, 2012

  • 500 families in North St. Louis will receive complete Thanksgiving meals
  • Thursday, November 15th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the St. Louis Dream Center

Local families in North St. Louis will come this Thursday, November 15, to receive a Thanksgiving basket, complete with all the ingredients to make a Thanksgiving meal. The St. Louis Dream Center, an inner-city outreach in the 21st Ward of North St. Louis, will be providing 500 Thanksgiving baskets to local families from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. that day.

This is the 12th year the St. Louis Dream Center has hosted this event. "Most of these families would not be able to have a Thanksgiving meal without some help," says Jeff Allensworth, Director of the St. Louis Dream Center. "They do all they can to pay their bills, so we want to provide them a way to celebrate this holiday without the added stress."

To receive a Thanksgiving basket, local residents signed up at the St. Louis Dream Center this past month. Other families that are a part of the Dream Center's Adopt-A-Block, kidZjam and nursing home routes will have baskets delivered to them by Dream Center volunteers on Friday and Saturday.

A team of 50 St. Louis Dream Center staff and volunteers will be assembling these items for families this Wednesday, November 14th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Dream Center is located at 4324 Margaretta Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63115.
