• CVC estimates $10,031,040 will be brought into the St. Louis economy through Joyce Meyer Ministries' 30th Annual Women's Conference
• Event will draw a record 27,000 women
• September 20-22 at the Edward Jones Dome in Downtown St. Louis
(St. Louis, MO) Thousands of women will gather together at the Edward Jones Dome in Downtown St. Louis this September for Joyce Meyer Ministries' 30th Annual Women's Conference. The event is expected to draw 27,000 women from around the world to hear acclaimed teacher and author Joyce Meyer, along with other special guests.
This is the 30th year the event has been held in St. Louis. "The Joyce Meyer Ministries Women's Conference has become a staple event for St. Louis each September," says Kathleen Ratcliffe, President of the St. Louis Convention and Visitors Commission (CVC). "This year, we estimate that the Joyce Meyer Ministries Women's Conference will bring $10,031,040 in direct spending dollars to the St. Louis economy over the three-day weekend."
Local business owners gear up for this event every year. Melinda Nichols, VP Store Manager at the Macy's in downtown St. Louis says, "We look forward to this weekend each year. Thousands of ladies from the Joyce Meyer Ministries Women's Conference visit our store when they are in town and they come ready to shop." Storeowners located downtown will see a dramatic influx in traffic throughout the weekend of the conference.
With a large amount of conference attendees coming in from out of town, many hotels in the area are already filled to capacity. Thirty-six hotels with over 4,900 rooms in the St. Louis area are currently reserved, and that number continues to rise each week. "The Joyce Meyer Women's Conference has been an integral part of the Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel's success," says Dan Boyer, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Renaissance St. Louis Grand Hotel. "From the first year the hotel opened, this conference has been one of the hotel's annual staple events. Over the years, this convention has represented over 12,000 room nights and has generated over $1.6 million dollars in sleeping room revenue alone."
Local business owners also see how unique this conference is to St. Louis. "What makes this event special is the fact that this is a 'hometown' organization who's chosen to keep their business in St. Louis," says Boyer. "The attendees are warm and gracious and our staff looks forward to their return each year. We're grateful for Joyce Meyer's business."
The theme of this year's conference is "Celebrating the Power of Hope" and will include guest speakers Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, and Christine Caine, with musical guests Darlene Zschech, Mandisa, Kari Jobe and Fuzed Worship. For more information, please visit www.joycemeyer.org/lovelife.
