ST. LOUIS, October 6, 2010 –
Impacting the lives of countless thousands through meals, mentoring and ministry, on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 10 am, the St. Louis Dream Center will culminate a weekend of festivities as it celebrate its 10-year anniversary.

The St. Louis Dream Center was founded in 2000 by Dave and Joyce Meyer and is an integral part of the Joyce Meyer Ministries family. What began as a vision and seed, 10 years later, has now become a vital contributor and bedrock institution for one of the most disadvantaged and impoverished communities within the city of St. Louis.

"Wanting nothing more than to be a blessing to others, we intentionally established the Dream Center in the 21st Ward because we want to make a difference in our own community, and we're committed to being there long-term to help them improve their quality of life," said Joyce Meyer.

In addition to multiple feeding and charitable programs, outreach and assistance efforts, and relentless community advocacy, the Dream Center maintains a vested goal to further develop strong, productive relationships with municipal, school, human service, law enforcement, business and civic leaders throughout the city.

"Our ability to service and support the children, families and citizens of the 21st ward make everything we do worthwhile," said Senior Pastor Jeff Allensworth. "We strive to emulate the example and legacy history of giving back and helping others established by our founders. For both those we help and our staff, the work is literally life-changing and a daily reminder that we are indeed our brother's keeper."

Pre-anniversary festivities kick off the day before on Saturday, the 9th with 99.1 JOY FM broadcasting live from the Dream Center campus. The station has partnered to help raise awareness and donations for a men's clothing drive to benefit the Dream Center's free clothing boutique.

In a festival atmosphere, Saturday's event runs from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and includes free food, games, entertainment and more. Special guests will be the world champion Michigan City Soul Steppers who will be performing four times throughout the day.

Anniversary celebrations culminate on Sunday morning (10-10-10) with Joyce Meyer delivering a special message and ministering at 10:00 am. Dream Center staff will also be honoring the city's 6th District Police Department presenting the Captain with a special acknowledgement and gift. After the service, everyone is invited to a reception on the front lawn.
