They Can't Wait Any Longer
Can you imagine having an infection or even the flu, with nowhere to go for treatment? What about the agony of a toothache? For many in this world, this is reality. They are stuck in a relentless cycle of pain and disease.
A few years ago, while Joyce was going through her own medical issue, God sparked in her heart a desire to help those who didn’t have anywhere to go. This began Joyce Meyer Ministries medical missions.
Last year alone, through temporary medical clinics, hospitals and partnerships, more than 159,000 people received free medical care. But the AIDS virus, contaminated water, infections, diseases like Malaria and much more are plaguing the people on this planet.
How many more could we help today with your support?
Medical Clinics Bring Anticipated Care
Here’s the deal. Many people have so much pain in their lives that they can’t hear what we say until we help relieve their suffering. When we meet people’s physical needs, it opens the door wide for us to address their spiritual needs.
Our medical clinics are a great example.
Since 2007, we have held these 1-week clinics in India, Mexico, Cambodia, Peru, Ethiopia, Haiti and other countries. More than 13,300 people have also prayed to accept Christ into their lives through the medical outreaches.
Just this summer our team traveled to Papua New Guinea
to bring medical care to some of the most remote and primitive areas in the world.
At each of these clinics, we are able to meet most of the patients’ needs all under one roof. After being examined and treated for their medical and dental needs, they have lab work done and pick up their prescriptions at our pharmacy, free of charge.
“The worst part of my job is at the end of the day when I have to close the doors to our mobile medical clinics and leave hundreds of people standing outside,” shares Ashley Wilkins, R.N., Medical Outreach Coordinator for Hand of Hope.
Fortunately in some locations, people will be able to come back to the permanent healthcare facilities anytime during the week for free medical care. Like in Ethiopia…
The Poorest in Ethiopia Receive Medical Care
Originally a government facility, Joyce Meyer Ministries took over and renovated a medical clinic in Ethiopia, in February 2008. The clinic provides medical care 7 days a week for families in and around Angacha, Ethiopia.
It was at this clinic that we met Merit, a young girl whose spine was so severely curved, that she needed immediate care. Thankfully, the staff could help her along with many others through a pediatrics and birthing unit, ophthalmology unit, pharmacy, food bank, medical training for doctors, general exams and testing.
24 Hour Care for a Village in India
In the remote village of Chandrakal, India, our hospital continues to treat hundreds of patients a week, offering free state-of-the-art medical help to those who have no way to pay for it. Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, the hospital has treated more than 57,000 patients since it opened in 2007.
An Urgent Need in Cambodia
A massive genocide in the 1970s wiped out most of Cambodia’s educated, including their doctors. So for many years, the people have suffered.
Without proper medical care, tiny cuts are turning into massive infections, people are dying from easily treatable diseases or losing limbs in an overwhelming amount of landmine accidents.
Thankfully, the Hand of Hope Health Center in Pursat, Cambodia, is offering care that many have gone without for so long and need so badly. Day by day, this 100-bed capacity hospital is growing and learning to accommodate the needs of the people.
The facility offers general medical services, lab tests, OB/GYN services, minor surgical procedures, cardiology and pulmonary services, and a pharmacy.
Partnering with Other Organizations
In one of the poorest communities in Louisiana, we helped support the medical outreaches of Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge. Along the Amazon River, we provided medical and dental care in partnership with Project Amazon. Through the Children’s AIDS Orphanage in Chandrakal, India, nearly 40 children are receiving love, a home, and the medical attention they need. And in Haiti, the partners of Joyce Meyer Ministries are providing monthly operation costs for the Jesus Healing Center a brand-new hospital run by Love A Child.
Rescue a Victim of Untreated Diseases
Of course we hear people say, “No matter how many people you help, there will always be more.” While that is true, if you were sick and were offered just one day of free medical care, wouldn’t you take it?
There are still countless thousands who are without basic medical care, and we need your help to reach them. Please consider doing everything you can! When we all work together, even more lives can be changed!
