Bringing Lifesaving Medical Care to Those Who Are Hurting
Most of us take it for granted. But for millions around the world, health care is a luxury they simply can’t afford. In 2008, your support has made a way for thousands to receive the vital medical help they need.

Acts 10:38 says that …Jesus went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed… (NLT). And this is the heart behind our medical missions outreaches at Joyce Meyer Ministries—to reach out to those in need and share the love of Christ in both word and action.

Last year, the Lord helped us to touch the lives of the hurting in more ways than ever before. From our brand new clinic in Ethiopia, to our Children’s AIDS Orphanage in India, to providing fresh water around the world, we reached tens of thousands with lifesaving physical and spiritual care.

"Many people have so much pain in their lives that they can’t hear what we say until we help relieve their suffering," Joyce says. "But when we meet people’s physical needs, it opens the door wide for us to address their spiritual needs as well."

Friends and partners, thank you so much for your faithful support that is allowing us to touch the lives of so many precious people all around the world. The love and care they receive is not only healing their bodies, but it is also introducing them to The Healer, who is able to restore every single part of their lives.

Hospitals and Clinics
Hospitals and Clinics
February 2008 saw the grand opening of our new medical clinic in Angacha, Ethiopia, which offers free health care to hundreds each week. It contains a pediatrics unit, a birthing unit, ophthalmology unit, pharmacy and many other services, including four outpost clinics to reach people in remote areas.

In the remote village of Chandrakal, India, our hospital continues to treat hundreds of patients a week, offering free state-of-the-art medical help to those who have no way to pay for it. We also reach thousands each year through ministry-supported clinics in Kosovo, Yemen and Brazil.

HIV/AIDS
So many children who struggle with HIV/AIDS have been orphaned, or their family simply can’t afford to pay for treatment. The children at our AIDS Orphanage and Clinic in Chandrakal, India, are given a loving home, a great education, and the proper medical care and medications necessary to help them live healthier lives. 37 children currently live at our home.

We also continue to partner with Children’s Cup external link to operate ten Care Point Centers in Swaziland, where more than 40 percent of the population is infected with AIDS. Each day, we reach more than 3,400 children, providing nutritious meals and lifesaving medicines for those fighting this disease.

Mobile Medicine
Mobile Medicine
In partnership with Healing Place Church, external link Joyce Meyer Ministries continues to reach low-income areas of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, through state-of-the-art mobile medical and dental trucks. Volunteer physicians completely change the quality of life for thousands and, as a result, many have also given their lives to Christ.

South of the equator, we have teamed up with Project Amazon external link to fully support a medical boat that travels from village to village along the Amazon River. This facility provides dental care on the upper deck of the boat, and all other medical care is administered in a clinic we set up in their village.

Last year, our medical missions team also conducted temporary clinics in the nations of India, Mexico, Peru and Ethiopia, offering free treatment and medicines to more 6,000 people.

Fresh water
Fresh Water
Last year, Joyce Meyer Ministries dug 12 new Well of Life freshwater wells in India, changing the quality of lives for entire communities. Next to each well, we also build a church and install a toilet. We not only have an opportunity to meet their physical needs, but the wells open the door for us to also meet their spiritual needs. To date we have dug more than 200 wells worldwide.

In addition, in 2008 we installed 600 water filtration systems throughout the Amazon Basin in partnership with Project Amazon. These filters are greatly impacting the health of these communities whose main water source is the Amazon River—water which is polluted with life-threatening bacteria, parasites and other contaminates.

Dr. Mara's Story, Medical Outreach Volunteer.

"My colleagues and I were humbled working alongside the doctors and nurses of the Hosanna Hospital in Ethiopia. We marveled at what they were able to accomplish with Dr. Mara examines a patient.so
little supplies and such antiquated technology. Back here in America, I think of them often as we flip on the suction and cautery machines in the operating room and discard the unused supplies. Even as I write this I renew my commitment to remain part of the solution…no longer standing on the sidelines shaking my head thinking 'someone should do something.'

I've learned so much about serving and humility from my association with the partners of Joyce Meyer Ministries, and these experiences have inspired me to restructure my life so that I can spend the rest of my medical career in service to the Lord through medical missions around the globe."
